"[I]t was precisely
the partial nature of these memories, their fragmentation,
that made them so evocative for me. The shards of memory
acquired greater status, greater resonance, because they
were remains; fragmentation made trivial things seem like
symbols, and the mundane acquired numinous qualities."
- Salman Rushdie
in "Imaginary Homelands"
Soon after people started getting
wind of this site, I started receiving a number of e-mails
from people reminiscing about their "good 'ol days"
in Newburgh. I suggested that they write up something about
their experiences that I could post on this Web site. Hopefully
this collection of essays will continue to grow. If you have
any original, unpublished writings to contribute, please e-mail
comments@newburghrevealed.org. Reading these essays requires
that you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.
